Governmental Relations / Land Use

The firm assists developers and others in addressing zoning and planning matters throughout California, which have included, among many others:

  • Assisting with the preparation and submittal of subdivision applications to cities and counties
  • Negotiating with counties, cities, utilities and quasi-governmental entities for the creation or modification of easements, title transfers and other agreements and interests
  • Processing boundary line adjustments
  • Assisting with compliance issues mandated by the California Subdivided Lands Act
  • Addressing permitting matters and disputes which arise under the California Coastal Act
  • Representing clients in investigating and resolving real property tax issues with County Assessors and tax collectors throughout California
  • Representing clients in disputes with cities and counties arising from enforcement of zoning and building and safety ordinances
  • Pursue variance applications addressing limitations imposed by local city and county ordinances
